Alaska Lodging

Need a place to stay in SE Alaska? No, you can't rent an igloo! Good beaches for a tent, rustic Forest Service Cabins, 4-Star Lodges and B&B's...Even Paris's Dad's place... If it's a roof over your head and a place to stay for a night (or a lifetime), this is the place to talk about it! The Alaska Lodging Forum is currently sponsored by the Alaska Wolf Lodge.

Default Appleton Cove Cabin

Appleton Cove Cabin was built in 1992 by Forest Service timber prep and and administrative crews for field housing. When logging was complete, the cabin became available for recreation purposes. Cabin can sleep 5 people. SETTING: Cabin lies along a south-facing and flat saltwater shoreline amid a tall dense hemlock-spruce forest. ACTIVITIES: Saltwater fishing, hunting, and marine wildlife. Past logging has established an isolated road system adjacent to the cabin. ATV's may use roads when there is no logging. Use caution. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, oilstove for heat, and an outhouse. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. Bring #1 fuel oil for stove, 10 gallons for a 3-day stay. A mooring buoy is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for boat anchorage. Firewood for outdoor campfires is not provided, but dead and down wood may be gathered. Past logging has established an isolated road system adjacent to the cabin. Please note that culverts have been pulled on some roads, causing deep depressions. Use caution in these areas.

This one looks pretty proper too. How much does it cost?
