Okay, the banner has been up there a while, there are a few for sale on eBay, and I've been talking about these magic C3 flies for years now. I'll post a few pictures (sorry for the crummy pics... I left my good camera on the boat) if anyone's interested.

I've literally out-fished Rum Runner, Huntress, Desire, Three Eagle, Reel Time and all the rest trolling these things in exactly the same places and right along side every other charter boat in town. The only times when C3 flies fail to catch many fish are when nobody is catching fish at all.

C3 Flies are approximately 4" in length, and will fish nicely on 15# or greater salmon tackle or cast nicely on an 8 or 10wt fly rod. These flies have been used by charter captains all over SouthEast Alaska - often out-fishing other hard lures, rigged baitfish, or rubber "hoochies." I've personally experienced these flies catching salmon and trout 3 and 5 times more often than the standard tackle everyone else uses.

I remember once when Rick Bierman gave me a white hootchie and said it was what I needed to be fishing. I put it out alongside a Magic Green C3 Fly and a UV Ghost C3 Fly. While Rick's white rubber hootchie caught 1 King Salmon for the day, my C3 Flies caught a total of 7 fish that day - including the 43# boat record that stood for almost 18 months... (Until a C3 Fly in "Nittany Lion" colors caught a 52# King near Elfin Cove 2 seasons later!)

The forum wouldn't let me attach more than 5 images, so here's the pic of "The Patriot"... it's one of my favorites - makes me feel proud to be an American, and it catches a heck of a lot of fish! (The last one of these I fished caught 3 King salmon, 6 cohos and a 75# halibut before I finally gave it up to another guide who wasn't catching any fish that day!)
