Default I gotta brag..........

As they say...."The proof is in the pudding" Or more fitting for Alaska Marine Adventures....."The proof is the salmon being in the boat"!

Brad and Pammy with their "monster" King Salmon..oh that that's Boy Wonder in the background, isn't he cute? At the start of the day, after catching my Salmon I announced that the person who caught the biggest fish would buy a round at the Red Dog at the end of the day. Luckily for me, Brad's was about 7 pounds bigger than mine! Thanks for the beer, Brad!

WOW!! Those are huge fish! I haven't seen fish at large in years. Of course, I haven't been to Alaska either. You'll be able to eat for a week off of them!

Those are some good size fish. So did the Boy Wonder catch anything? I have never caught anything that big except for a catfish once.

Cool

Captain (that's me) and crew (that's Blunder Boy) aren't allowed to fish when we're out on a charter. Blunder Boy was in charge of gutting and cleaning the fish.

You know, it didn't seem fair that at least one of you can't fish with your customers. You can always give them the fish if you caught anything. But that's my opinion and I'm stuck with it.

It's always been a company policy with me... I would feel horrible if my superior fishing skills allowed me to catch a bigger fish than you (no, no ego here! ) As a fishing GUIDE, it's my (and my crew's) job to help YOU fish.

Also, lately we've got some legal restrictions... Let's say you're limited to 1 King Salmon per day or per year. You've caught your fish already, and now my deckhand and I can both catch one and give it to you... that puts you at 3 fish when the limit was 1...

It's really just an ethical thing for me... I take my crew out quite often and we have plenty of fun fishing when there aren't clients on board, so it's not like we're missing out on the fun. A sport fishing charter should be all about the fun the GUESTS get to have...

That's what I call sneaky fishing. }:-) But I like it. That way if the fish I caught wasn't a very big one, I could always the one you caught was the biggest fish I caught. hehehehehe

I'm impressed with the size of that fish! I wish I could participate on something like that. No that I think about it, I actually have never fished anything...

I understand why you wouldn't fish when you are taking people out that are paying. I think that is a good policy to have.

Congrats on the prize catch! Did you eat it yourself or sold it?
I wonder when can I catch one for myself.

No selling of fish here... Everything we catch at Alaskan Marine Adventures is "sport caught" and the ONLY legal purpose it may be used for is consumption by the angler, friends and family. Any other use is illegal statewide. There was a restaurant in town shut down a few weeks back (only for a day) while they tore apart the kitchen searching for fish that wasn't on a commercial manifest - figured it was sport caught. Also, wasting of fish or game is a big no no here, as is using most sport caught fish for bait...

Oops, I asked this question in another post, no need to repeat yourself...all I had to do was keep reading.

That is one truly awesome fish! I'm not even sure I would've been able to lift that baby. Congrats on your catch! You did have it mounted, didn't you?

Nope... as is the popular choice among many of my clients, Pammy didn't have her fish mounted, she had it smoked... then she ATE it! (Or was it all of your friends and co-workers who ate it?) ;-)

Thanks for clearing that out. I think that I'm used the fish being sold because I grow up with my father as a fisherman.

Wow That's like literally 50 times the size the fish we catch around here! It takes about 5 good size fish to feed our family. I bet we could eat of that whopper for a WHILE!
