Default Admiralty Cove Cabin

Admiralty Cove Cabin is in Admiralty Cove, a small cove within Young Bay. Cabin is located along a fishing stream, about 1/4 mile from the saltwater beach. Popular activities include wildlife viewing (brown bear, deer, and waterfowl may be seen in the nearby area), berry picking, and beachcombing. This cabin is in a primitive setting with no electricity, plumbing, or telephone. It is a one-room cabin with 4 bunks and will sleep up to 6 people. A 4.5-mile trail leads to Young Lake; a 0.25-mile trail leads to Admiralty Cove. The cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table and benches, oilstove for heat, and an outhouse. Mattresses and cooking utensils are not provided. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags and pads, cook stove, cooking gear, and food. Users should bring #1 heating oil for the oil stove; fuel is available from local oil distributors. Plan on a minimum of 1 gallon per day. Access is by floatplane or boat. Visitors are asked to carry out all that they bring in. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal.
