No, these aren't many folks' idea of a "vacation" but if you like to go camping, this is a great way to go. Besides, the cabins are a bit more "bear resistant" than a tent! ;-)

There's quite a range in pricing. I know of a few private cabins (homes) that people rent out with little or no services for between $50 and $150 per night. Our forum sponsor, The
Alaska Wolf Lodge is a great B&B/Lodge with rooms ranging from $129 to $199 per night (double-occupancy, of course!) and that includes a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The going rate for several of the light-houses in the area is $250 per night once you get there (helicopter or boat only) and the level of service and accommodations varies.
